Class 86

The BR Class 86 AC Bo-Bo electrics were introduced in 1965 with a total of 100 locomotives being built for use on the newly electrified West Coast Main Line. Their long careers saw them in front line passenger service on the WCML until the early 2000s while they also served the Great Eastern Main Line from London Liverpool Street to Norwich on push-pull workings as well as the parcels and Freightliner sectors. New ready-to-run models have been introduced by Heljan for 'OO' gauge in 2021 and 2022 covering the original Class 86/0, Class 86/4 and Class 86/6 while Dapol also makes an 'N' gauge version.
