1/72 JETSTREAM ‘UNIFORMS’
Hannants’ own-brand label Xtradecal has released a selection of very smart 1/72 schemes for the Jetstream turboprop.
Modellers looking for alternative liveries to adorn their Jetstream builds have a splendid option in Xtradecal’s recent sheet X72327. It provides markings for six airframes in differing colours; four are British.
Due to the presence of radar ‘thimble’ nosecones on all but one of the choices, these decals are almost certainly sized for the Amodel kits, although Airfix’s vintage item could also suffice in replicating the machine without the bulged nose, if desired.
The schemes are as follows:
• T.2, XX478/564/CU, 750 Naval Air Squadron, RNAS Culdrose, UK, 2009
• Jetstream 32EP, HS-DCA, Thailand Department of Civil Aviation, Bangkok Don Muang International Airport, Thailand, 2016
• T.2, XX490/570/CU, 750 NAS, RNAS Culdrose, UK, 1985
• T.2, XX475, Defence Evaluation & Research Agency, West Freugh/RAF Cottesmore, UK, 2000
• T.1, XX495/C, 45 Squadron RAF, Multi-Engined Training Squadron (6 FTS), RAF Finningley, 1994
• T.2, XX490/876, Escuadrón Antisubmarino y Exploracion, Aviación Naval Uruguaya, La Paloma, Laguna del Sauce, Uruguay, 2017
Xtradecal’s usually excellent standard of printing is evident, with rich colours and spot-on register. The set costs £8.99 and is available from Hannants, and Amodel’s Jetstream kits can be found with the same retailer: www.hannants.co.uk
