Czech company 4+ Publications has pleased many fans of 1/144 scale by re-releasing its resin DC-2 kits under the CMR label. But whether you’re planning to build any of the four returning items, or possibly 1/72 DC-2 models from MPM/Special Hobby, the existing softback reference book from 4+ is splendid. And it’s even better value if you’re building several models of the type.
Running to 84 pages, this high-quality book provides a wealth of history, not just on the basic DC-2 but also its sub-types and predecessor… these being the DC-1, DC-2K, R2S-1, C-32/-32A, C-33, C-34, C-38, C-39 and C-42. Both civil and military service is explored fully and beautifully clear period photos fill almost every page, both colour and black and white shots being employed. Interspersed between the images and narrative are grayscale profiles with colour keys, captions and scrap illustrations of markings.
