If there is one subject that is guaranteed to make enthusiasts passionate, it is that of locomotive liveries. Hardly has the restoration of any particular engine begun than someone will be asking what colour it is to be painted. Some say detail must be historically absolutely accurate while others relish the chance to see an approximation of a livery that might have been extinct for many years.
