Coal, biomass and aggregates hoppers from the HYA and IIA wagons fleets are arriving from Accurascale offering a new choice of modern freight wagon. MIKE WILD explores their value with brand-new video and exclusive online only images.

WE LOVE A block train of matching wagons and the modern railway has bulk trains by the bucket load. Not only do long rakes of wagons look good on the real railway, when they are turned into models they can also look spectacular snaking through a miniature landscape. In these new models of the HYA and IIA bogie hoppers, Accurascale has really brought the potential of the block train to the fore.

Since the arrival of its first HUO hopper wagons in 2019 it has continued to raise the bar in detail and printing while also offering collections of wagons to recreate real trains like the PTA tippler family, JSA steel wagons, PFA container flats and, more recently, the 21ton mineral wagons (HM175).
