THE FIRST factory decorated samples of the August 2021 announced BR Mk 2b carriages from Accurascale for ‘OO’ gauge have been received for inspection.
Marking the debut of this new range of passenger vehicles in colour is one of the West Coast Railway Mk 2B TSOs in the steam era flavoured lined maroon finished as vehicle 5487. It is one of a pair to be released in this livery while further versions are expected from the factory soon demonstrating application of Trans-pennine, BR blue and grey and Network SouthEast colour schemes.
The full range of Mk 2B stock from Accurascale will cover the Tourist Second Open (TSO), Brake First Corridor (BFK), First Corridor (FK) and Second Corridor (SK). The specification includes full interior detail, interior lighting, separately fitted parts, brass bearings in the bogies, close coupling and prism free glazing.
Prices are set at £59.95 per coach and Accurascale says they are on course for release in the fourth quarter of 2022.
