Accurascale reveals decorated 'Manors'

Accurascale Manor

The first factory decorated samples of Accurascale's in-development model of the Great Western Railway 'Manor' 4-6-0s have been revealed modelling 7808 Cookham Manor in GWR Shirtbutton green and 7812 Earlstoke Manor in BR lined green with late crests.

The two samples are being inspected in detail by Accurascale team with further samples of the additional GWR and BR liveried models (including Key Publishing's exclusive edition of 7802 Bradley Manor) due in the New Year. Areas already identified for improvement include the colour of the copper chimney, firebox coal, tender coal load, addition of etched nameplates which will be factory fitted, further polishing of the die-cast body to remove seam remnants, adjustment of the locomotive number size and modification of the front coupling so that it be be stowed on the hook.

Production is due to start soon following adjustments to the models with delivery now expected in the second quarter of 2022. In its press release Accurascale said: "Accurascale apologise for this delay, but with supply chain issues hitting production lines hard in 2021, as well as the pandemic, not to mention striving for making the very best steam locomotive they can, Accurascale feel that this slight delay will be fully justified in the final model."

The New Year is set to see arrival of further livery samples for the 'Manor' as well as video of the locomotives running with the new custom DCC sound project which has been created for the Accurascale model. Prices are set at £169.99 DCC ready and £259.99 DCC sound fitted.
