Accurascale shows KUA first sample

Accurascale shows KUA first sample

Accurascale has received the first engineering prototype of its forthcoming 'OO' gauge KUA nuclear flask wagon. This sample is being inspected in detail before being put into production with the delivery expected in September 2020.

The wagon will feature turned metal wheels, small tension lock couplings in NEM pockets, separately fitted handrails and additional detailing and much more. Prices are set at £159.95 for a twin pack containing two uniquely numbered KUA wagons. Accurascale has said that more than 50% of the production run has already sold on pre-order.

In its press release, Accurascale's Fran Burke said: "The walkway thread plate will also be added before we receive the decorated samples, as well as other minor adjustments. Fit and finish of first engineering prototypes is always patchy and this will be improved before production before any plaudits can be received. However, overall these magnificent beasts are well on their way to the shelves despite these minor adjustments."
