After being announced by Airfix in January, two of the firm’s three new-tool 1/43 supercar kits are now available. Think Bugatti… think Pagani!
Airfix surprised many with its news of all-new kits of the Bugatti Chiron, Pagana Huarya and E-Type Jaguar (click here to read our initial announcement featuring exclusive parts shots) – 1/43 appealing to modellers who favour pure styrene projects or those entrenched in multi-media products. After a slight delay, the Chiron and Huarya are now on sale as Starter Sets, with cement, acrylic paint, and a paintbrush included. The E-type is due this September.
While the scale might be relatively small, each kit is big on detail, yet they offer simplified construction due to thoughtful moulding. The Chiron has just 39 pre-coloured parts, the Huarya has 33, and even simpler is the E-Type with 23 components. However, you’ll be bowled over by the refinement displayed by all these cars. Highlights include faithfully reproduced dashboards, fine brake discs and callipers, and authentic wheels.
