Jack Homewood sinks his fangs into Airfix’s second boxing of a classic early jet fighter: the 1/48 de Havilland FB.5/FB.9.
When Airfix first released its 1/48 Vampire F.3 back in 2021 it was met with great joy by modellers, as the firm added yet further to its range of Cold War jets. However, those with keen eyes may have noticed extra parts for later variants of the Vampire already on the runners, leading to a simple question of when, rather than if, Airfix would release any other variants in a separate boxing. Two years later, and with relatively short notice, a new Vampire boxing came screaming onto the shelves... this FB.5/FB.9 kit.
