Airfix’s hotly anticipated 1/35 new-tool Austin K2/Y ambulance is built straight from the box by Huw Morgan.
Austin’s K2/Y was a heavy ambulance used widely by all Commonwealth forces during World War Two and for some years afterwards. It was based on the Austin K30 light truck in the 30cwt-class (approximately 1,400kg) first produced in 1938, the chassis of which was later used for several special and utility vehicles.
