Allerby - recreating the 1980s in 'O' gauge

ALLERBY IS a hamlet in the civil parish of Oughterside and Allerby, Cumbria, England. It is located 25 miles south west of Carlisle and it has no railway. The layout is completely fictitious and bears the name because that’s where the pin landed when I stuck it into the map.

This is a privately owned 7mm scale ‘O’ gauge model railway built by myself, supported by my wife, Susan, and two sons, Matthew and William. It has been built as a pure exhibition layout as it is too big to set up at home. We exhibit as a family, as we have done for over 20 years, with three generations now joining in.In addition to my wife and sons, there is my daughter Charlotte and her partner Jack. Grandson Logan is also now old enough and is a very able part of the team.
