AMT has reintroduced its kit of Star Trek’s rare-but-revered USS Enterprise NCC-1701-C, with new parts and decals, as CHRIS CLIFFORD reveals.
Any keen ‘Trekkie’ will know of the ill-fated USS Enterprise-C, which appeared in popular The Next Generation episode Yesterday’s Enterprise, in 1990. Basically, the Enterprise-D, commanded by Capt Jean-Luc Picard, encounters Capt Rachel Garrett’s Enterprise-C – the latter leaping through a rift in space-time (caused by a photon torpedo) during a battle with Romulans 22 years before. Many of its crew were killed and the ship suffered extensive battle damage. To cut a long story short, Enterprise-C is revered by fans of the franchise, because it was ordered back in time by Picard to meet its ultimate demise, as he was worried about how its actions would affect the future. Its demise, while tragic, averted war between the Federation and the Klingons.
