A GBRf ‘gronk’ is amongst the latest Bachmann exclusives. MARK CHIVERS checks whether its pulling power matches its looks.
Bachmann’s Collectors Club has steadily grown its range of club exclusive models encompassing motive power and rolling stock in ‘OO’ and ‘N’ gauge.
Amongst the current line-up of available locomotives is this pair of Class 08 diesel shunters modelling Harry Needle Rail’s 08818 Molly in GB Railfreight (GBRf)/HN Rail branded orange and blue in ‘N’ (Cat No: 371-016K) and ‘OO’ (32-119K) gauges.
08818 was repainted into its striking GBRf colour scheme in 2017 and has since been employed on shunting duties at Garston car terminal in Liverpool and, more recently, Worksop yard in Nottinghamshire.
Above: Harry Needle Rail’s Class 08 shunter 08818 Molly is now available as an exclusive edition for members of the Bachmann Collectors Club in ‘OO’ and ‘N’.
These colourful locomotives each feature a high quality evenly-applied paint finish with crisp definition between the orange and blue colour scheme, ‘wasp stripes’, red buffer beam and neatly applied lettering and numbers – some of which is exquisitely tiny and legible.
