Bachmann resumes Chinese Production

BACHMANN has confirmed that production at its factories in China has resumed and the next shipment due will include the first of the ‘OO’ gauge Bachmann Branchline Class 117 and 121 Diesel Multiple Units, plus Graham Farish ‘N’ gauge Thompson carriages.

Whilst inevitably delayed by the extended closure of production facilities following Chinese New Year due to the COVID-19 situation, the company is now expecting these models to arrive in the UK during June.

With most staff currently working from home, the company’s Barwell headquarters remains operational, albeit with reduced staffing in keeping with official guidelines, supporting retailers, consumers and Bachmann Collectors Club (BCC) members. Bachmann’s service department is also open, but only for spare parts enquiries at this time.

Despite the current situation, of the 56 new product items announced in early February (HM154), 45 have so far been released to retailers. The company’s Summer 2020 British Railway Announcements are set to be unveiled during early May, in conjunction with the next issue of the Bachmann Times issued to BCC members. Development work in the UK and China also continues apace on current and new projects.
