Power is provided by a centrally mounted motor providing drive to both bogies while lighting can be switched between day and night modes. Like the recent Class 117, 121 and 159, the Class 20/3s feature a PluX22 decoder socket and a speaker is pre-fitted into each locomotive to simplify sound installation.

Models planned for release cover 20306 in original DRS blue (Cat No. 35-125), 20311 in Harry Needle Railroad Company orange and black (35-126) and 20312 in DRS Compass (original) colours (35-127). Prices are set at £164.95 per locomotive with release currently anticipated in December 2020.
