In recent months we have focused on ‘OO’ and ‘O’ gauge projects, but we haven’t forgotten our ‘N’ gauge layouts. Barrenthorpe shed is coming back to the exhibition circuit this autumn for two outings, as MIKE WILD explains.
KEEPING our hand in with all the major scales is a big ask for a small team, but while we have prioritised our ‘OO’ and ‘O’ gauge projects of late, we haven’t forgotten the potential of ‘N’ gauge. Since the beginning of the year we’ve had our compact ‘N’ gauge mainline and shed scene, Barrenthorpe, planned in for two exhibitions in November this year. With those shows fast approaching, we have started preparing the layout and its stock for those events.
Like all of our exhibition layouts, Barrenthorpe has been in storage for some time. It was initially located in the workshop, but with a limited number of new ‘N’ gauge models coming in for review we found it was just gathering dust. With the requirement of more space to build West Coast Cement last autumn, we decided to place it into storage until such time that we required its services again.
