CHRIS CLIFFORD reviews four neat little resin and PE vehicle kits from both Czech brands.
Builders of small-scale vehicles have varying reasons for doing so. With some it’s for gaming, while others cater for model railway layouts. There are also modellers who are simply short on display space and prefer their projects to be small in stature. Whichever your ethos, the recent mixed-media vehicles from co-existing Czech labels Brengun and Hauler offer a wealth of detail.
First on the list is Hauler’s 1/120 German Sd.Kfz.251C half-track (HTT120090, above). This conforms to the recognised TT railway gauge and comprises five cast resin parts. These are the main hull, left- and right-hand running gear (wheels and tracks combined), with separate front wheels. The quality of detail is impressive for such diminutive subjects and it’s amazing how this vehicle has been mastered with its interleaving wheels in situ. There’s also decent bolt-head detail on the front wheels.
