Cavalex confirms ‘Grid’ price
Development work on Cavalex Models’ all-new ‘OO’ gauge Class 56 Co-Co diesel is reported to be progressing well, with first shots from the moulds expected for assessment shortly.
14 models currently form the initial production run, which are set to appear in BR blue, BR large logo blue, BR Railfreight (original), BR Railfreight ‘red stripe’, BR Railfreight/Trainload Sector grey, Loadhaul, EWS, Colas Rail Freight and DC Rail Freight liveries – see separate table for the full listing.
The Class 56 will reflect the various build differences between class members and will also feature a five-pole motor, twin flywheels, 21-pin Digital Command Control (DCC) decoder socket, all-wheel pick-up, heavy die-cast chassis, working roof fans, directional lighting and a raft of separately applied moulded and photo-etched parts.
The retail price for DCC ready models has also now been confirmed at £189.95, although those for DCC-fitted and DCC sound-fitted models have yet to be announced.
