With the arrival of the new Accurascale Class 37, we take you into the cab of GCR based 37714 to experience the journey from Leicester-Loughborough in the cab on Britain’s only preserved double track main line.
THE GREAT CENTRAL RAILWAY offers a unique experience in British railway preservation – its double track main line. No other heritage railway has double track running and in this video we are on board with resident Class 37 37714.

This locomotive is the only heavyweight refurbished Class 37 in preservation. It is owned by the Heavy Tractor Group which was established in 2016 to care for the Direct Rail Services owned locomotive. In 2017 the group became the formal owners of 37714 which is maintained in Railfreight Metals sector livery and is a regular performer on the GCR.
