NEW 1/48 RESIN TEMPEST ENGINE FROM CMK

If you’re preparing to tackle the Eduard/Special Hobby 1/48 Hawker Tempest Mk.II, CMK’s new engine set (P48005) is a must if you want more detail. The main cylinder banks are provided as a single 3D-printed resin item, while the remaining pieces are traditionally cast. All this enables you to display a beautifully rendered Centaurus engine with the cowlings open.

You’ll need to cut away the kit’s existing cowling area and perform a little sanding/filing, but aside from this the powerplant is pretty much a drop-in affair. The cast resin parts include all four cowling panels, the reduction gear unit, attachment bracing for the kit cowling ring. Fasteners for the cowlings are 3D printed, but are very delicate so care in their removal from the casting block is vital. The detail on the main cylinder banks is exquisite as all the ignition cables and manifolds are in place.
