Colour for ‘OO9’ Quarry Hunslets

Decorated samples of Bachmann’s newly-tooled ‘OO9’ Quarry Hunslet 0-4-0Ts have arrived for assessment.

Four locomotives are set to appear in the first batch of releases. Detail variations have been incorporated in the tooling suite with models finished as Alice in Dinorwic Quarry red with open cab and dumb buffers (Cat No. 391-050), Britomart in Pen-yr-Orsedd Quarry blue with early type enclosed cab fitted, but no buffers (391-051), Nesta in Penrhyn Quarry black with open cab and no buffers (391-052) and Dorothea in Dorothea Quarry lined green with late ‘Port’ enclosed cab fitted and dumb buffers (391-053).

These delightfully diminutive locomotives feature a die-cast boiler, die-cast running plate and a wealth of separately applied detailing, plus etched metal name and works plates. The specification also includes a coreless motor, flywheel and six-pin Digitial Command Control (DCC) decoder socket.

Priced at £139.95 for open cab locomotives and £149.95 for enclosed cab examples, release is scheduled during the first quarter of 2023.
