Decorated samples of Heljan’s newly-tooled ‘OO’ gauge North British pioneer diesel-electric 10800 have arrived with the company’s development team for evaluation.
Four models of 10800 are planned initially, each offered in limited numbers, reflecting the prototype at different stages of its career and appearing in BR black and silver with early crests (Cat No. 1080), BR black and silver with early crests and a weathered finish (1081), BR black with early crests in its final BR condition (1082) and BR green with late crests (1083).
The specification includes a powerful motor, 21-pin Digital Command Control (DCC) decoder socket, all-wheel pick-up and drive, working marker lights, cab lights and sprung buffers.
Prices are set at £254.95 for pristine models and £274.95 for the weathered example, with release expected in 2023.
