Decorated samples of Rapido Trains UK's all-new ‘OO’ gauge models of Liverpool and Manchester Railway 0-4-2 Lion and Thunderbolt have arrived for assessment.
These latest samples represent Lion in the respective liveries carried in the 1930s (Cat No. 913001/913501) and 1980s (913002/913502), together with Thunderbolt in the distinctive colour scheme applied for its Titfield Thunderbolt film appearance (922001/922002).
Each locomotive features die-cast metal and injection moulded parts, Next18 Digital Command Control (DCC) decoder socket and era-specific detail differences. Following approval, the locomotives are now in production with delivery expected later this summer.
Prices for Lion are set at £179.99 DCC ready and £279.99 DCC sound-fitted, while the Titfield Thunderbolt train packs are priced at £299.95 for the standard DCC ready pack and £399.95 for the deluxe DCC sound-fitted pack.
