Dapol ‘O’ gauge Vanwide/VEA van progress
Dapol has updated progress on its forthcoming 'O' gauge BR 12ton Vanwide and VEA box vans, with confirmed identities for the vehicles due to be produced.
Currently at the artwork stage, nine models are proposed in total, with four 12ton Vanwides appearing as VEV B783773 in BR bauxite (Cat No. 7F-049-201), VMV B784641 in BR bauxite (7F-049-202), B784479 in BR bauxite (7F-049-203) and VMV B783994 in BR bauxite (7F-049-204), together with five VEA vans as 230026 in BR Railfreight brown (7F-049-001), 230034 in BR Railfreight brown (7F-049-002), 230117 in BR Railfreight red and grey (7F-049-003), 230142 in BR Railfreight Distribution grey with yellow ends (7F-049-004) and 230078 in BR Railfreight red and mid-grey (7F-049-005).
Each of these newly-tooled ‘O’ gauge wagons will feature a highly detailed body, compensated chassis, separately fitted fine detailing, sprung metal buffers, working instanter couplings and turned metal wheels with brass bearings.
Artwork for the forthcoming models is currently being evaluated, after which decorated samples will be supplied for approval ahead of production getting underway later this year.
Priced at £58.59 each, delivery is anticipated during the second or third quarter of this year.
