Dapol ‘OO’ Hawthorn Leslie EPs


Dapol has received Engineering Prototype (EP) samples of its newly tooled ‘OO’ Hawthorn Leslie 0-4-0ST.

This latest ‘OO’ gauge addition to the Dapol range models the locomotives built by Hawthorn Leslie between 1899 and 1924 and will feature a finely moulded body with many separately added fitted details, die-cast compensated chassis and all-wheel pick-up, die-cast wheels, NEM pockets and a powerful 5-pole skew wound motor. Models will be available DCC ready with Next18 decoder socket (accessed via the lift-off die-cast saddle tank) and DCC fitted.


The models come in a wide variety of liveries which include No. 4 Asbestos in green lined yellow (Cat No. 4S-024-001), Henry in black lined red (4S-024-002), Invincible in Maroon lined straw (4S-024-003), No. 56 in Port of London Authority blue with yellow lining (4S-024-004), National Coal Board blue with straw lining (4S-024-005), Faraday in green (4S-024-006), Spider in Black Park Colliery green livery (4S-024-007), Newcastle Electric Supply No.13 in yellow with chevrons (4S-024-008) and Australian Iron & Steel Co. Wallaby in blue (4S-024-009).

Priced at £117 DCC ready and £152 DCC fitted, delivery is anticipated in Q3 2023.
