Dapol has confirmed a second batch of its popular ‘OO’ gauge Great Western Railway (GWR) ‘Large Prairie’ 2-6-2Ts, with decorated samples arriving for inspection by the company’s development team.
Eight ‘OO’ gauge models form this latest selection of locomotives including 3146 in Great Western green (Cat No. 4S-041-008), 3131 in Great Western green (4S-041-009), 5134 in GWR ‘shirtbutton’ green (4S-041-010), 5132 in GWR green (4S-041-011), 5144 in British Railways (GWR) green (4S-041-012), 6153 in BR black with early crests (4S-041-013), 8101 in BR green with late crests (4S-041-014) and 5101 in BR lined green with late crests (4S-041-015).
Bearing the hallmarks of the initial releases, the specification includes a five-pole skew-wound motor, compensated chassis, all-wheel drive, die-cast profiled wheels with steel tyres, firebox glow and a raft of separately applied detailing. The tooling suite will also enable detail differences to be incorporated as appropriate.
Prices are set at £152 DCC ready, £187 DCC fitted and £291.60 DCC sound fitted, release is anticipated during the first quarter of 2024.
