Dapol receives decorated ‘Manor’ samples
Decorated samples of Dapol’s newly-tooled ‘OO’ gauge GWR ‘Manor’ 4-6-0 have been received by the company’s development team for evaluation.
Eight models are planned initially including 7800 Torquay Manor in GWR green with roundels (Cat No. 4S-001-001), 7814 Fringford Manor in GWR green (4S-001-002), 7807 Compton Manor in GWR green with crests (4S-001-003), 7823 Hook Norton Manor in BR lined black with early crests (4S-001-004), 7819 Hinton Manor in BR black with large early crests (4S-001-005), 7810 Draycott Manor in BR lined green with early crests (4S-001-006), 7827 Lydham Manor in BR lined green with late crests (4S-001-007) and 7820 Dinmore Manor in BR lined black with early crests (4S-001-008).
Dapol’s all-new ‘OO’ gauge models will feature a die-cast metal compensated chassis, high-torque motor, all-wheel pick-up, sprung pony truck, Next18 Digital Command Control (DCC) decoder socket, firebox glow, space for two speakers, detailed cab interior, four different tender variations, removable coal load and a wealth of separately fitted detail parts.
During analysis of these latest samples, the development team has highlighted areas for further improvement, including the finish to the reversing shaft, the joint between the upper and lower boiler section, original chimney proportions, the length of the handrail knobs and slight sinkage issues on the tender mouldings, which will be corrected before production starts in the summer.
Prices are set at £159.95 DCC ready, £189.95 DCC fitted and £259.95 DCC sound fitted. Delivery is anticipated later this year.
