In developing the new ‘OO’ gauge flat bottom rail track, the company has opted to complement existing code 75 and code 100 track components from other manufacturers with matching rail and sleeper depths. However, there are some subtle differences to the sleeper width (3.5mm), length (30.5mm) and spacing (4mm). It is only about 0.5mm or so, but it is noticeable and does improve the appearance. The more accurate sleeper spacing in particular is something that generates comment on many ‘EM‘ and ‘P4‘ gauge layouts, which are to 4mm:1ft scale rather than the 3.5mm:1ft of most ‘OO’ gauge track.
