Eduard has released very useful embellishments for Kinetic’s 1/48 Mirage 2000D.

Kinetic’s Mirage 2000 kits are generally decent products, with a fair degree of accuracy. If you want to add extra refinement to its 2000D ground-attack variant, though, Eduard’s recent detail sets are worth considering.

Item 491221, priced £11.71 direct from Eduard, offers two photo-etched metal frets… one plain brass (below), the other pre-coloured (above). The former carries cockpit sidewall inserts, instrument panel coaming details for both cockpits, a head-up display frame, parts for the rear cockpit bulkhead and middle glazing, and ejection seat pieces, along with canopy handles and mirrors. The second fret is all about instrumentation for both cockpits, and provides 36 parts to use throughout these areas. Not shown here, but also given, is a small acetate sheet providing two portions of ‘glass’ for the HUD.

Set FE1221 simply has the pre-printed PE fret from the above-mentioned package (priced at £8.13), but FE1222 (below) offers a full set of seat harnesses and pads for the styrene ejection seats in Kinetic’s kit, and these cost just £4.82.
