The latest arrival for ‘O’ gauge from Dapol is this new model of the Conflat-A and BD container.
New in from Dapol in its expanding collection of ‘O’ gauge BR 10ft chassis goods wagons is the Conflat-A container wagon. The first batch arrived in early July and the model is being offered with a choice of GWR and BR era liveries with and without BD containers as their loads.
The Conflat wagon was introduced in 1931 by the Great Western Railway and the type continued to be built by British Railways, initially to GWR diagram H11 and H10, but with revisions to create the Diagram 1/061 13ton design (as illustrated by our sample model) and later a 12ton variant to diagram 1/062. There were also 14 and 21ton Conflat wagons built in the mid-1950s.
Our sample models B735200 which is the first of the second batch of BR diagram 1/061 wagons to be completed as part of an order for 200 vehicles completed by Swindon Works.
It encompassed vehicles B735200-B735399 which were built between October 195 0 and January 1951 as Lot 2125.
