Eduard has released a bunch of aftermarket products to upgrade its 1/48 A6M2-N Rufe kits, allowing modellers to choose the refinement level.
When Eduard entered the kit market, it did so on a foundation of well-regarded accessory sets, so it was inevitable this approach would be extended to its own products. From a modeller’s perspective, it means you can choose just how much extra detail you can add to a build, whether it’s just using the firm’s pre-cut self-adhesive masks or perhaps the seatbelts, through to a complete replacement engine or cockpit. After releasing the A6M2 Zero, many fans of Imperial Japanese Navy subjects had their fingers crossed for an A6M-2N Rufe floatplane and those were answered in style last year, with limited-edition and ProfiPACK releases.
The subsequent upgrade/accessory sets have been a boon, with a range of photo-etched (PE), 3D-printed resin and decal plus pre-painted items all now available. Here we take a look what’s available:
