It's a welcome return for Eduard’s splendid 1/72 Bf 110, now repackaged as a limited-edition ‘Adlertag’ (eagle day) offering to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
Compared with previous releases, the styrene components are unchanged, comprising seven runners, accompanied by a pre-painted photo-etched (PE) metal fret and a canopy mask set. Where this version (2132) really scores is the resin extras, which make up an example of the rarely fitted 30mm MG 101 cannon. All parts are moulded to the firm’s exacting standards, with different fuselages for the Bf 110C/D airframes, and options for styrene, decal or PE instrument panels and an open/closed canopy.
There is also a choice of a ‘Dackelbauch’ (dachshund’s belly) fuel tank or ETC 500 bomb rack. The highlight is the decal sheet, with markings for 12 Battle of Britain C/D airframes. This is a superb kit and, at just £24.35, is great value for money. Additional details are at: www.eduard.com
