Inspired by recent kit releases, Euro Decals has issued two sets of 1/48 markings, catering for the FM-2 Wildcat and Corsair variants. CHRIS CLIFFORD reports.
Eduard’s 1/48 Wildcat, plus Magic Factory’s freshly tooled same-scale F4U-1A, are almost certainly the muses for new markings from Euro Decals. A sub-brand of Fantasy Printshop, the label has issued nine schemes for the Grumman FM-2 Wildcat (including Royal Navy Mk.VIs), and seven for the Corsair (F4U-1A/Corsair Mk.II/Brewster F3A).
Pleasingly, the camouflage in both sets is properly varied and will almost certainly have you wanting to represent more than one airframe. For Wildcat enthusiasts, General Motors FM-2 Wildcat Mk.VI (ED-48138) offers all of the following for £14.95:
