This year’s annual Singapore National Airfix Competition returned to the Officers’ Mess at the Air Force Museum, across November 2-4. The event actually involves all types/brands of models and, after set-up from 9am on the Thursday, competition entries were accepted from 1pm… the first being Lester Poh’S 1/35 Airfix new-tool Feret Scout car and same-scale World War Two British Army 30cwt 4 x 2 GS truck diorama. Judging took place on the Friday night after 6pm and the most numerous entries were in the Masterclass category. Appraising the models was quite a task for judges Jonathan Kua, Lee Stringer, Mick Stephen and Suresh Nathan, due to the quality of the work.
