Exclusive Cappagh JNA-T box wagons

Key Publishing has commissioned a series of eight ‘OO’ gauge JNA-T box wagons from Revolution Trains modelling the Royal Blue vehicles operated by Cappagh on aggregate trains.

EIGHT EXCLUSIVE JNA-T box wagons are joining the Key Publishing Exclusives collection in ‘OO’ gauge with pre-orders open now through the Key Model World Shop.

The Cappagh branded JNA-T wagons are operated in block trains hauled by DC Rail Class 56 and 60 locomotives.

The wagons are being produced by Revolution Trains to model DC Rail-operated Royal Blue JNA-T wagons with and without Cappagh branding on the bodyside.

The DC Rail fleet consists of 100 wagons which are hauled by its fleet of Class 56 and 60 diesel locomotives across the country on aggregate trains with flows originating from Peak Forest, Middleton Towers, Merehead, Machan and other locations. In total DC Rail operates more than 2,500 trains. Class 56-hauled workings usually feature 16 wagons while the Class 60s are tasked with 18 wagon rakes.

Four versions will be available with Cappagh branded in the Royal Blue base livery.

The JNA/MMA EALNOS bogie wagons were introduced in 2016 and more than 500 are now in service with a variety of operators. The Revolution Trains JNA-T wagons model the 11-rib design of the DC Rail-operated vehicles and ride on Axiom Rail LT25 track friendly bogies.

Trains are formed of branded and unbranded JNA-T wagons in Royal Blue.

The production covers eight different vehicles for ‘OO’ gauge – four with Cappagh branding and four in unbranded Royal Blue with VTG logos. This combination will allow modellers to replicate the real trains which use a mixture of the two livery styles. Vehicle numbers with Cappagh branding are 81 70 5500 707-1 (Cat No. 00-EAL-107A), 81 70 5500 715-4 (00-EAL-107B), 81 70 5500 720-4 (00-EAL-107C) and 81 70 5500 729-5 (00-EAL-107D). The unbranded VTG blue versions are 81 70 5500 737-8 (00-EAL-107E), 81 70 5500 744-4 (00-EAL-107F), 81 70 5500 749-3 (00-EAL-107G) and finally flashing tail lamp equipped 81 70 5500 750-1 (00-EAL-107L).
