The noted decal UK firm has released a fresh series of 1/72 roundels under the No Carrier Film banner, as CHRIS CLIFFORD reports.
Whether you wish to upgrade the markings in your chosen kit, or embarking on scratch-building/conversion projects, the new RAF roundel decals from Fantasy Printshop could be properly useful. The main trait is that they seemingly have no carrier film, needing just 1-2 seconds in water before they’re ready for application. Aircraft types employed from 1915 to World War Two are the target recipients, and 13 separate sheets are available. They are as follows:
FPNCF 72001 Type A 1915-1929 (top)
FPNCF 72001W Type A 1915-1929 (with white boundaries)
FPNCF 72002 Type A 1929-1938
FPNCF 72002W Type A 1929-1938 (with white boundaries)
FPNCF 72003 Type A Dull Red/Blue
FPNCF 72004 Type A.1 1937-1942
FPNCF 72-005 Type C1 – A2
FPNCF 72006 Type B
FPNCF 72007 Type B.1
FPNCF 72008 Type C
FPNCF 72009 Type D
FPNCF 72009W Type D (with white boundaries)
FPNCF 72010 Type D Pale
The roundels have a satin finish and are applicable to myriad aircraft types, including interwar biplanes. Each sheet in this pioneering new range costs £6.95, direct from Fantasy Printshop and various roundel diameters are provided on with every set. Note also that 1/48 and 1/32 options are available too.
