Development of Rapido Trains UK’s all-new ‘OO’ gauge BR OAA wagon has progressed to the first Engineering Prototype (EP) sample stage.
Built to BR Diagram 1/191 in the early 1970s, these were amongst a series of wagons introduced for British Rail’s new air-braked network (ABN). Through the years they have travelled far and wide, carrying a wide range of goods.
Rapido Trains UK (RTUK) is to release 17 different models, reflecting many of the colour schemes carried by the vehicles during their careers in BR bauxite, BR bauxite (with Corpach pool lettering), BR Railfreight red/grey, BR Civil Link yellow/grey and EWS maroon. A mix of standard and ‘patched’ finishes are planned.
RTUK’s all-new ‘OO’ gauge models will feature a wealth of detailing, especially to the underframe, sprung metal buffers, etched metal door bangers, turned metal wheels and small tension lock couplings in NEM pockets.
Priced at £39.95 each, a release date has yet to be confirmed.
