To celebrate the centenary of Gresley ‘A3’ 4-6-2 4472 Flying Scotsman, Hornby is collaborating with the National Railway Museum (NRM) to create a range of brand-new bespoke models to mark this special occasion.

Released under Hornby-Dublo branding, the models have a die-cast body and powerful five-pole motor, enhancing the weight and pulling power without compromising detail.

Hornby's new models will also feature an 8-pin Digital Command Control (DCC) decoder socket and a new style of locomotive to tender connection, enabling easy coupling while maintaining electrical connection.

The medley of models presented cover all eras of Flying Scotsman’s career finished as unnamed 'A1' 1472 in 1923 condition in LNER lined green (R30206), 'A1' 4472 Flying Scotsman (as it appeared at the British Empire Exhibition in 1924) in LNER lined green (R30207), 'A3' 103 Flying Scotsman in post-war (1946) LNER lined green (R30210), 'A3' 4472 Flying Scotsman in LNER lined green with  banjo dome, streamlined tender and red nameplates (as preserved by Alan Pegler) (R30209) and as 4472 Flying Scotsman in 1969 USA tour guise with modifications including distinctive headlight, bell, cow-catcher and second tender (R30208). Finally, it will appear as 'A3' 60103 Flying Scotsman in its current preserved state in BR lined green with late crests and German style smoke deflectors (R30211).
