Gaugemaster has commissioned Heljan to produce an exclusive ‘O’ gauge model of the forthcoming Class 73 Electro-Diesel (ED) in Pullman livery for its expanding Gaugemaster Collection.

Finished as 73101 The Royal Alex (Cat No. GM7240301), the model will be decorated in Pullman umber and cream, to represent the prototype renamed in 1992 from that previously carried – Brighton Evening Argus.

This latest release represents the third occasion that Gaugemaster has commissioned a model of 73101 The Royal Alex in Pullman colours, with previous examples including Dapol's ‘N’ and ‘OO’ gauge models.

Heljan's all-new ‘O’ gauge model will feature twin motors, flywheels, fine etched metal grilles, wire handrails, independent lighting control, high intensity cab headlights, sprung buffers and a ESU XL Digital Command Control (DCC) interface.

Priced at £749.95, The Royal Alex is expected to arrive with standard liveried examples in 2022.
