Gold-plated Clan Line surfaces
Hornby has shared images of its forthcoming special Centenary year limited edition 'OO' gauge model of Bulleid rebuilt 'Merchant Navy' 35028 Clan Line in BR lined green with late crests (Cat No. R3824), bearing gleaming gold-plated metal parts.
This highlight from Hornby's Centenary collection is presented in special packaging and has received gold-plated treatment to the locomotive's metal parts including handrails, wheels, motion and buffers. In addition, it also comes with a brass commemorative plaque-fitted wooden plinth, topped with a length of 18carat gold-plated 'OO' track.
Hornby's rebuilt 'Merchant Navy' was released in 2000 and is widely credited as being the model that turned Hornby's fortunes at the time and set the company on the path it is today.
Just 1,000 of this highly-collectable locomotive are being produced. Priced at £224.99 each, delivery is anticipated in late 2020/early 2021.
