If you want to build a decidedly different 1/48 Mustang, Halberd Models offers comprehensive conversion sets to marry with Eduard’s P-51D parts. Here, CHRIS CLIFFORD examines three recent options.
While traditional P-51 Mustangs from World War Two and the Korean War offer a wealth of modelling avenues, the basic outline of the model will remain the same. However, a sure-fire way to ensure a more unorthodox-looking model is to explore a racing version, or the 1960s-70s military-focused airframes. You can do just that in 1/48 scale courtesy of Ukraine’s Halberd Models, which has a variety of limited-edition conversion sets to this end. They employ the firm's own resin parts to marry with various styrene components from Eduard’s P-51D family (Overtrees, or standard boxings).
