Hattons Andrew Barclay 0-4-0ST for OO gauge

Hattons took delivery of its first batch of Andrew Barclay 0-4-0STs in April 2018 and now a new batch is in development. MIKE WILD inspects a trio from the first release.

SMALL LOCOMOTIVES have definitely been capturing the imagination of the model railway world in Britain and Hattons delivered its second compact tank engine model of 2018 during April – the Andrew Barclay 14in and 16in 0-4-0STs. Now these characterful industrial locomotives are back in vogue with a new production run set for release in the second quarter of 2024

These locomotives were first revealed as a ready-to-run project by Hatton’s in August 2017 at the same time as the Wainwright ‘P’ 0-6-0T (HM129) and offer a feature packed model which uses a combination of die-cast metal and plastic injection moulding to create the finished product.
