The Western Region 'Hymek' diesel-hydraulics were capable mixed-traffic machines which have long been a popular subject for ready-to-run models. Heljan launched it range of 'O' gauge ready-to-run British outline diesels with the 'Hymek' in 2006 and this year it has reissued the model with a number of upgrades to meet current expectations.
New for this model is LED lighting, upgraded motors, a lightened chassis (it still weighs 1.6kg) and DCC friendly wiring. We put the model through its paces by installing digital sound a sending it out for service on our 'O' gauge test track.
