Heljan Class 47 for ‘O’ in production
Decorated samples of Heljan’s all-new ‘O’ gauge Brush Type 4 (Class 47) diesel have been received by the manufacturer before production starts.
12 models are set to appear in the first batch of ‘O’ gauge releases, with colour schemes ranging from as-built 1960s examples with steam-heat equipment through to later 1980s/1990s variants with detail differences incorporated, such as no heat or electric train heating (ETH) equipment and high-intensity headlights (see separate table).
Each will feature a heavy chassis, twin five-pole motors, working roof fans, directional lighting, detailed cab interior, factory-fitted bufferbeam detailing, sprung buffers and optional snowploughs.
Priced at £699 each, production is now underway with release anticipated later this year.
