Heljan has received decorated samples of its forthcoming reworked ‘O’ gauge Class 55 Co-Co diesels for assessment.


Heljan has revamped these latest models with an improved body, additional detailing and an updated chassis. Ten new liveries form this new batch of releases including 55007 Pinza in BR blue (Cat No. 5520), 55015 Tulyar in BR blue with white cabs (5522), 55002 King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry in BR green with full yellow ends (5524), 55022/D9000 Royal Scots Grey in BR railtour blue (5525) and 55011 The Royal Northumberland Fusiliers in weathered BR blue (5526), together with two unnumbered models in BR blue (5521) and BR blue with white cabs (5523).


Three 'O' gauge models suitable for contemporary era layouts and fitted with high-intensity headlights include D9000 Royal Scots Grey in BR green with small yellow warning panels (5530), 55019 Royal Highland Fusilier in BR blue (5531) and an unnumbered version in BR blue with white cabs (5532).


The specification includes twin motors, twin flywheels, plug-and-play XL Digital Command Control (DCC) decoder interface, new interior detailing, switchable lighting (headcode/high-intensity headlights/cab interior/tail), glazed or plated headcodes, finely detailed grilles and cast or fabricated bogies.


Once any amendments or improvements to the decorated samples have been made, production is expected to commence. 

Priced at £729 each, release is anticipated during the third quarter of 2023.
