Twenty were built in 1960 and 1961 by the Yorkshire Engine Company to work on restricted routes and had end cab doors, an unusual feature in the UK. The whole class was withdrawn between 1969 and 1975 with many sold to private industry. Seven survive.

The all-new 'OO' gauge models are set to feature separately fitted detailing items, interior and exterior lights with switchable shunting and cab lights, factory-fitted speaker, Next18 Digital Command Control (DCC) socket and more. Lighting functions will work on analogue and DCC with the former activated via magnetic wand (supplied).
