First Engineering Prototype (EP) samples of Heljan’s newly-tooled ‘O’ gauge Southern Railway Parcels Miscellaneous Van (PMV)/Covered Carriage Truck (CCT) utility van have arrived for evaluation by the company’s development team.
Heljan’s all-new model will be offered in PMV form with fixed ends and as a CCT with folding end doors. The tooling suite also includes compensated axles, optional footsteps, sprung buffers and sprung couplings, as well as options for even planked bodies and doors, uneven planking/doors or plywood panels.
Colour schemes planned include Southern Railway grey, BR crimson, BR Southern Region green, BR blue, Gulf red (PMV), BR crimson as a cycle van (PMV) and BR departmental olive green (CCT).
Slated for a 2024 release, each model is priced at £199 with factory weathered examples costing £219.
