Heljan shows 'O' gauge
Class 47 artwork
Heljan has shown the livery artwork for its all-new 'O' gauge Class 47 which will cover colour schemes from introduction to the late 1990s.
The new 7mm scale Class 47 replaces Heljan's previous version of the class. Two types are due for release in the fourth quarter of 2020: V2 models represent early boiler-fitted engines with full underframe tanks, headcode panels and Serck radiator shutters for the 1960s and 1970s, while V3 models have plated over headcode panels, high-intensity headlights and optional radio aerials to represent later period engines.
In addition, the tooling caters for no-heat freight and departmental locomotives as well as those fitted with Electric Train Supply (Class 47/4s) for passenger and parcels work.
Colour schemes planned for the V2 locomotives cover BR two-tone green with small yellow warning panels (Cat No. 4850), BR two-tone green with full yellow cab fronts (4851) and BR blue with full yellow ends and headcodes (4852). V3 models with plated headcodes and high-intensity headlights model BR blue with full yellow ends (4860), BR 'large logo' blue (4861), BR Railfreight 'red stripe' grey (4862), BR unbraded Railfreight triple grey (4863), 'Dutch' grey and yellow (4864), Parcels red and grey (4865), InterCity Executive (4866) and Network SouthEast (4867).
Prices are set at £699 per locomotive with the specification including twin motors, a die-cast chassis, directional LED lighting, working roof fans, sprung buffers and working screwlink couplings.
