HIND DETAILING PARTS
A selection of aftermarket accessories aimed at Zvezda’s 1/48 Mi-24 helicopter gunship kits are now available from Eduard.
Zvezda’s recently released Hind kits are superb, but any styrene model can stand to receive extra detail when it’s in crisper resin, or photo-etched (PE) metal form. In an unsurprising move by Czech firm Eduard, it has issued various detail/upgrade packages for Zvezda’s items (and its own limited-edition boxing of the same tooling). The samples seen by Key Model World are:
481068 Upgrade Set (above)
This is a plain brass fret featuring interior and exterior details, for areas such as the undercarriage bays, chaff/flare dispensers, tail rotor mount, missile director pod and more. £11.73
648576 9K114 Sturm Missiles (above)
The real missile actually being named Shturm, and known by NATO as the AT-6 Spiral, four resin launch tubes for this weapon are provided here by Eduard. They are embellished by double-layer PE end plates also supplied, along with stencil decals. The detail is excellent, there being delicate reproduction of the mounting points/collars. £6.21
648675 Falanga 9M17P Missiles
Four of these weapons (NATO – AT-2 Swatter) are given here, as well as their twin launch rails. All these are in crisply cast resin, but there are also PE additions to up the ante in terms of refinement. There’s also a small decal sheet featuring stencilling. £6.21
648685 Wheels
A simple set offering the mainwheels and twin nose wheels in resin. The hubs are beautifully detailed, and there is fine circumferential tread pattern on all the tyres. £3.59
